HEARTS BEAT LOUD is the latest sale and theatrical release of an independent film by local firm White Hat Entertainment, an affiliate of Fort Wayne, IN based North River Capital. Other films include ROBOT AND FRANK (2012), INFINITELY POLAR BEAR (2014), and THE HERO (2017).
HEARTS BEAT LOUD is a 2018 American comedy-drama music film directed by Brett Haley (THE HERO, I’LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS), from a screenplay by Haley and Marc Basch. It stars Nick Offerman, Kiersy Clemons, Ted Danson, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner, and Toni Collette. The film premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival January 26th in Park City, Utah. At Sundance, the distribution rights for the film were acquired by Gunpowder & Sky (domestically) and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (internationally).
HEARTS BEAT LOUD is a love story about a single dad and record store owner Frank (Nick Offerman) and his hard-working daughter Sam (Kiersy Clemons) in the hip Brooklyn neighborhood of Red hook, as they both come of age in the summer before the daughter leaves for college. Hoping to stay connected through their shared musical passions, Frank urges Sam to turn their weekly jam sessions into a father-daughter live act. After their first song becomes an internet breakout, the two embark on a journey of love, growing up and musical discovery.
The film was produced by Burn Later Productions, Houston King Productions, and Park Pictures. White Hat Entertainment was an executive producer on the film.
